Fall Issue

Have you seen the Fall issue of A Distinctive Style? If you haven't looked at it, you should. I have 4 articles in this particular issue and I'm happy with how all of them turned out. I'm told the Paula Nelson article has been very popular (much like my fashion article in the Summer issue) but the others are so worth the read. Ben Sollee was fantastic to talk to and his music is lovely. Cowboy Dan is an amazing cancer survivor with a great story and the Meisha cosmetic line is a natural alternative for teen girls.
Up next, I'll be interviewing the founder of an animal rescue organization. It's this huge farm that houses all kinds of characters, many of whom are described in the founder's newest book. I have some other articles in mind that I'm thinking of pitching to my publisher as well. We'll see what other articles she assigns to me and what the issue's "theme" will be.
On another note, this weekend is a big one! I'll be attending hubby's office Christmas party at the Convention Center in London. It's a catered event with several other businesses in attendance. We've almost come to a decision on what we're wearing (we might just match, people!) but I'm taking along a couple dresses AND going shopping beforehand (for Christmas presents only, of course.)
In future, I think I need to consider buying more shoes (I know, the horror!) After two pregnancies, my feet have changed and spread. I wear orthotics, my feet are wider, and my old pretties just don't fit anymore (I mourn the loss of several.) Therefore, all of my outfits either MUST match my ONE pair of pretty boots or be worn with open toe shoes (I seem not to be at a loss of summer versions. Don't ask why, given the fact that summer is so damn short in Canada) or be worn with flats. Really, this is not going to work.

In the works:

  • tall heeled boots and some sort of pumps.
  • just handed in an article to Conducive Chronicle
  • research for next A Distinctive Style article
